Chamber Lunch: Family History, Community Treasures
Discovering Family Treasure
Coming from an Asian culture, I was always taught to respect my elders, to be a better listener than a talker.
Start the New Year by Discovering Treasure
Many of our New Year goals and resolutions focus on what we can do to improve our lives. The January 8th Newcastle Chamber lunch “Discovering Family Treasure” will take us on a different kind of life journey, a chance to look beyond our own selves and appreciate the importance of family history. A reminder to make plans to honor and hear the stories of the family members – the stories of those who came before us, leading the way with courage, grace, fortitude and humor.
In keeping with the theme Discovering Family Treasure” we are honored to present three community treasures, all residents at Regency Newcastle: Therese Cappelli, Alma Hilf and Mickey Breznikar. This special lunch panel will share stories of their lives. Their presentations will be followed by a Question and Answer period moderated by Newcastle Chamber President Paul Reynolds.
Alma Hilf will reflect on being a survivor, from her life as a child in war torn Europe to the inspiring life she now leads. You’ll be inspired by Mickey Breznikar’s infectious, positive attitude and boundless energy. And Therese Cappelli will talk about her interesting childhood that ultimately led her to a life that focused on giving back to children.
Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.
