Governor Inslee announces new restrictions on businesses to take effect this week

Governor Inslee announced new restrictions on businesses as Washington State enters the 3rd wave and most dangerous time for the virus. Among these restrictions is a reduction to in-store retail capacity to 25% statewide.


Governor Inslee announced new restrictions on businesses as Washington State enters the 3rd wave and most dangerous time for the virus. Among these restrictions is a reduction to in-store retail capacity to 25% statewide.

The restrictions will take effect Monday, November 16 at 11:59 PM and will remain in effect until Monday, December 14. The modified restrictions of restaurants, however, will take effect Wednesday, November 18 at 12:01 AM.

• In-store retail: 25% occupancy limit and must close any common/congregate non-food-related seating areas. Food court indoor seating is closed.

• All retail activities and business meetings are prohibited. Only professional training and testing that cannot be performed remotely is allowed. Occupancy in each meeting room is limited to 25% or 100 people, whichever is fewer.

• Indoor social gatherings prohibited with those outside household

• Outdoor gatherings limited to 5 people

• No indoor service at bars or restaurants

• Gyms, bowling centers, movie theaters, museums, zoos & aquariums are closed

• Real estate open houses prohibited

• Wedding and funeral receptions prohibited

• Religious services: 25% occupancy and choirs are prohibited

• Fitness facilities and gyms are closed for indoor operations. Outdoor fitness classes may still occur but they are limited by the outdoor gathering restriction listed above.

The Governor also announced $50 million in grants and loans will be available to small businesses by the end of the year. More details on this and the restrictions above will be available in the coming days.
